Solar & battery planning

E2 Flex does not include automatic solar diversion as standard. It can be upgraded through Evnex; monitoring suitability and any site work must still be checked. E2 Core and E2 Plus include solar smarts from the outset.

Controls & connectivity

E2 Flex uses Wi-Fi rather than the built-in cellular connection offered by E2 Plus. Check coverage at the proposed mounting position.

Questions answered

Evnex E2 Flex FAQs.

Answers to common questions about this charger and its installation.

Manufacturer information

Product information reviewed October 2026. Confirm the supplied model and final scope with your quotation.

What is the difference between Evnex E2 Flex and E2 Core?

Both are 7.4 kW single-phase chargers with a 5 m Type 2 cable. Core includes solar smarts; Flex starts without automatic solar diversion and offers an upgrade path.

Can I add solar charging to an E2 Flex later?

Yes. Evnex offers a software upgrade to unlock solar diversion. We can check the monitoring arrangement and whether your property needs any additional installation work.

Will an E2 Flex work with my EV?

The tethered Type 2 version suits EVs with a compatible Type 2 AC inlet. Tell us if your car is an older import or uses Type 1 before choosing this package.

How quickly does the E2 Flex charge?

It can deliver up to 7.4 kW on a suitable single-phase circuit. Actual power is limited by the car, available supply and configured current; a larger battery takes longer to recharge.

Does the E2 Flex have 4G?

No. This model uses Wi-Fi for its connected features. If coverage at the parking space is difficult, compare E2 Plus or discuss a network improvement.

Can I schedule E2 Flex charging for off-peak hours?

Yes. Set preferred charging times in the Evnex app using the hours in your electricity plan. A schedule does not change the tariff charged by your retailer.

Does E2 Flex support the same Amber integration as E2 Core?

Evnex’s published Amber integration supports E2 Core, E2 Plus and X-series models rather than E2 Flex. If that integration matters, we can compare the supported options before ordering.

How long is the E2 Flex cable and which colour is available?

This package has a 5 m tethered Type 2 lead and a Volcanic finish. Measure the route to the car’s charging inlet, allowing for how you normally park.

Does the E2 Flex package include installation?

Yes. The package includes the charger, listed protection, an isolator, up to 2 m of circuit cable, app setup, testing and a compliance certificate. Longer runs or other additional work are scoped separately.

What warranty does the E2 Flex have?

Evnex lists four years for residential product use and three years for commercial use, subject to its warranty terms. Ask us about the installation scope and support arrangements for your property.
