Questions answered

Evnex E2 Core FAQs.

Answers to common questions about this charger and its installation.

Manufacturer information

Product information reviewed October 2026. Confirm the supplied model and final scope with your quotation.

Does the Evnex E2 Core include solar diversion?

Yes, solar smarts are included with E2 Core. The monitoring and commissioning still need to suit your electrical installation so the charger can measure available surplus.

How is E2 Core different from E2 Plus?

Core has a 5 m lead and Wi-Fi. Plus has an 8 m lead, cellular connectivity as well as Wi-Fi, and more finish choices. Both include solar smarts.

Is the E2 Core a 7 kW or 22 kW charger?

It is a single-phase charger rated up to 7.4 kW. For a three-phase option up to 22 kW, compare Evnex X22 and check your vehicle’s AC capability.

Can I charge overnight if there is no solar available?

Yes. You can set grid-charging windows as well as solar diversion periods. Overnight charging draws from the energy available at the property under your electricity plan.

Does the E2 Core work with a home battery?

It can be configured alongside a home battery. Battery priorities, charger wiring and app settings need review so charging behaves as intended rather than unexpectedly drawing down the battery.

Does E2 Core need Wi-Fi at my garage?

Wi-Fi is the Core’s connection to its cloud features. We check coverage at the charger location; Plus offers an alternative with cellular connectivity.

Can an E2 Core charge a BYD, Tesla, MG or Kia?

It suits compatible Type 2 AC vehicles across these brands. Give us the model and year so we can check the charging inlet and maximum AC rate.

Can E2 Core use Amber electricity prices?

Evnex lists E2 Core among the models supporting its Amber integration. Account eligibility, setup and current integration availability should be checked before relying on automatic price-based charging.

What does the Apexelec E2 Core package include?

The E2 Core charger, listed protection, isolator and up to 2 m of circuit cable, plus solar/app setup, testing and a compliance certificate within the agreed scope. Additional cabling or site works are identified separately.

What should I send for an E2 Core installation quote?

Send your suburb, vehicle model, parking position, proposed charger wall, switchboard exterior photos and solar or battery details. Note whether the car is home during daylight, as that affects the usefulness of solar diversion.
