Room for a second charger

Compatible Wall Connectors can share available power with a separately designed group installation.

Solar & battery planning

Solar panels can contribute to household charging, but automatic surplus-only charging is a separate capability. Tesla Charge on Solar depends on compatible Tesla energy equipment, software and configuration; it is not included simply by fitting a Wall Connector.

Questions answered

Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector FAQs.

Answers to common questions about this charger and its installation.

Manufacturer information

Product information reviewed October 2026. Confirm the supplied model and final scope with your quotation.

Can a Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector charge a non-Tesla EV?

Yes, the Australian Type 2 version can charge compatible non-Tesla EVs. Share your exact vehicle model so we can check its AC inlet and onboard charging limit.

How fast will a Tesla Wall Connector charge my car?

A suitable 32 A single-phase installation can supply about 7.4 kW. Three-phase output depends on the circuit and vehicle; many Tesla vehicles accept 11 kW AC. The vehicle’s AC limit, rather than its DC fast-charging rating, matters here.

Do I need three-phase power for a Tesla Wall Connector?

No. It can be configured for single-phase charging. We assess spare supply capacity before agreeing the circuit; a three-phase installation is a separate scope.

How long is the Gen 3 charging cable?

This package uses the 7.3 m tethered Type 2 version. That is the lead to your car; the included up-to-2 m circuit cable is the separate electrical run from the board.

Does the Tesla Wall Connector need Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi enables firmware updates, app controls and remote features. Let us know about weak garage coverage so connectivity can be planned with the installation.

Can the Tesla Wall Connector charge using solar panels?

It can use electricity available at the property, including solar. Automatically following surplus solar requires a compatible control arrangement; Tesla Charge on Solar has additional system requirements.

Can two Tesla Wall Connectors share the available power?

Tesla supports group power management between compatible Wall Connectors. Circuit design, configuration and the capacity available to the group need separate assessment.

Can a Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector be installed outdoors?

Yes, Tesla supports indoor and outdoor mounting. We still check the wall, weather exposure, cable storage and protection from vehicles before choosing a position.

What is included in the Apexelec Tesla installation package?

The Gen 3 Wall Connector, listed circuit protection, an isolator, up to 2 m of circuit cable, installation, testing and a compliance certificate are included in the standard scope. Additional site work is agreed before proceeding.

What warranty comes with the Tesla Wall Connector?

Tesla lists a 48-month product warranty for normal residential use and 12 months for normal commercial use, subject to its terms. Product warranty and the agreed installation scope are separate.
